CASEL affiliate Andressa Vianna Mansur is co-lead author on a newly released report, “Nature in the Urban Century,” that was partially produced during an iDiv working group in which she participates (Synthesis Centre for Biodiversity Sciences [sDiv] of German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research [iDiv]).”
“Nature in the Urban Century” shows the impacts of urban growth on biodiversity worldwide. Released in advance of the 2018 UN Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties meeting, the report calls for global action to conserve habitat for nature and for human well-being as global leaders work to revise goals for biodiversity protection within the convention.
The report, as well as interactive maps and other content, was at http://nature.org/urban100. For those of you who would like to skip straight to the full scientific report, it is here.
